The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is the leading global organization dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high standards, providing independent certification and building a worldwide network of trained coaching professionals.
ICF Australasia is a nonprofit membership organisation led by a member-elected voluntary Board of Directors. Because of the vast geography from New Zealand through Australia, the Chapter is organised into Branches to support its members. Each ICF Australasia Branch is managed by a voluntary leadership team.
When you join ICF you have the opportunity to affiliate with ICF Australasia and your local Branch. Return to your membership record at www.coachfederation.org to update your Chapter Affiliation.
When you join ICF (all memberships processed through ICF Headquarters in the USA), you are able to affiliate with your local Charter Chapter.
To affiliate with ICF Australasia choose “Edit Profile”, “My Chapter Affiliation” then pick “ICF Australasia and your local Branch” from the drop down list and click Save.
Your annual ICF membership fee includes affiliation with ICF Australasia Chapter. Some other Chapters charge an additional fee.
Member databases are separate and do not sync. When you join ICF your membership will be added to the ICF Australasia member database and mailing lists. This may take a week.
A full membership year is from the date you join/renew for a 12 month period and costs USD270.
ICF memberships are processed by Headquarters in the United States. Membership fees are payable to the International Coaching Federation in USD.
Members can affiliate with one Chapter and one Branch within ICF Australasia.
First access your ICF membership record at www.coachfederation.org and save the changes under your profile. This may take a week to reflect into the ICF Australasia database.
If your membership lapsed (there is a 2 month grace period) that you can renew.
If this period expires, then you need to rejoin through Global coachingfederation.org

ICF accredits and approves coach training programs and as such cannot recommend programs.
Accreditation of a coach training school by ICF is a different and separate process to a program being assessed as providing a recognised qualification. Please check with ICF for program accreditation.

At ICF, coaching training programs are Accredited while individuals are Credentialed. ICF’s Accreditation service for coach-training schools defines curriculum standards to ensure consistency in coach-training programs and consistency among coaching professionals.
ICF Credentials are awarded to professional coaches who have met stringent education and experience requirements, and have demonstrated mastery of the coaching competencies.

Credential applications and renewals are processed by Headquarters in the United States. ICF are accept renewal applications for ICF Credential Holders. Visit ICF Headquarters site to renew.
Mentor Coaching for an ICF Credential consists of coaching and feedback in a collaborative, appreciative and dialogued process based on an observed or recorded coaching session to increase the coach’s capability in coaching, in alignment with the ICF Core Competencies.
